Senior management job threat at Vela
Oval Insurance Brokers has begun a consultation with senior management at its underwriting subsidiary Vela in a bid to "simplify" the business' operations.
Sister title Post has reported that a consultation - involving seven Vela managers - began on Monday and is expected to last 30 days.
Vela's top brass consists of managing director Duncan Scott, head of underwriting and operations Matt Gifford and head of sales and development Tony Matthias.
Its management team also includes several former Bluefin employees, who were previously involved with the Axa-owned intermediary's underwriting arm, Elite and Layton Blackham.
