Towergate confirms Houghton's departure and return to broking
Towergate Insurance has confirmed the departure of Nick Houghton, former managing director of Broker Network and Countrywide, as revealed by Insurance Age on Friday.
The consolidator also revealed that Mr Houghton was leaving to pursue a career with an independent broking business.
Last week, a market source told Insurance Age that Mr Houghton had been popular with the membership and under his leadership the network had grown by member numbers and by gross written premium.
Tim Johnson, CEP of Towergate’s network division, will take on interim operational responsibility for the role.
