Action group calls for Aviva resignations

The Norwich Union Policyholders Action Group has called for the resignation of four Aviva directors in on-going pressure over performance and pay at the insurer.

The call came just days after the insurer confirmed that up to 800 jobs were at risk.

The Financial Times reported that the group had said on Monday that the directors shared the responsibility for the provider's underperformance.

The article quoted the action group as saying: "There is no evidence available to show that they ever challenged Moss' barmy and repeatedly changing blurred vision for the development of Aviva."

It listed Mary Francis, who joined Aviva's board in 2005, Richard Goeltz
