Allianz's UK profits tick up again

Allianz saw its UK operating profits edge up to €92m (£72.3m) for the first half this year, up from €89m posted during the same period last year.

During the three months ended 30 June this year operating profit stood at €50m, broadly in line with the €49m posted during the same period in 2011.

Gross premiums written for its UK operations also rose to €1.174bn (H1 2012) compared to €1.052bn (H1 2011).

Net premiums earned followed suite by rising from €910m (H1 2011) to €1.057bn (H1 2012).

They also rose when measured by quarter to €606m (Q2 2012) from €533m (Q2 2011).

Its UK combined ratio crept up to 96.4% (Q2 2012) from 95.4% (Q2 2011)
