Be Wiser reports £1m jump in profit

Be Wiser Insurance Services has reported profit before tax of £2.3m for the year ended May 2012.

This is compared with £1.3m reported for the same period last year.

Premium income jumped by 43%, from £53m in 2011 to £76m in 2012, and turnover also grew by 43%, from £12.1m in 2011 to £17.4m this year.

Policy holder numbers increased to 110,000 from 77,000 in the year ended May 2011, and the firm now employs 300 staff.

The Andover-based broker said it has plans to invest part of this year’s profits into further developing its training academy.
