AMII chief describes Bupa decision as "sad, but inevitable"
The chairman of the Association of Medical Insurance Intermediaries (AMII) has described Bupa pulling back from the broker channel for private medical insurance (PMI) as a "sad, but inevitable day".
Bupa recently confirmed it will no longer offer its ClientChoice, Bupa Care, Local Care, Local Hospital Care and Essential Care products as of 31 August.
And speaking to Insurance Age AMII chairman Wayne Pontin said the body had brought forward an executive meeting to 17 July to tackle Bupa's decision.
He said: "I have spoken to them [Bupa], we have confirmed the situation, it's still very disappointing.
