Aviva confirms branch sale in Ireland

Aviva Ireland has agreed to sell 23 branches to One Direct, reducing its Irish presence to three.

The move follows months of speculation about the eventual purchaser of the insurer's branch network.

Under the agreement Aviva Ireland's branch network personal line business book will transfer to One Direct, a wholly owned subsidiary of An Post which currently sells a range of general insurance products underwritten by Aviva Ireland.

The deal will see 59 employees currently working in Aviva Ireland's branch network transfer to their nearest One Direct outlet. These outlets are primarily located

Brokers upbeat on 2024 growth – Aviva

Brokers are more optimistic about growth in the coming year than they have been since before 2020, according to Aviva, with 83% expecting their business to grow compared to 76% last year.
