AA latest provider to dive into telematics

The AA has unveiled Drivesave, a telematics product designed to reward safe drivers with lower premiums.

The box is installed in the car and measures speed, types of road travelled on, time of day and night, braking and cornering.

The data is then presented to users in a way that the broker says will help them improve their driving safety and, in so doing, could lead to lower insurance premiums.

Simon Douglas, director of AA Insurance, said: "It is likely to appeal to inexperienced drivers as well as parents, whose youngsters have their first car.
