Rural launches equine scheme


Rural, the agricultural arm of UK General Insurance, said the move was its first equine-related delegated authority scheme.

The provider added that while its broker partner already placed equine insurance with a Danish insurer, the scheme was aimed at new customers who found the alternatives too expensive.

Mike Ellis, chief operating officer at Rural, explained: "We expect to pick up 20% of new business and there is also potential to attract existing customers who want to trade down to a simpler
