Broker subsidiary comes under fire for cancellation policy

The investigation focused on 25-year-old Ashley Bennett, from Tunbridge Wells, who had attempted to buy insurance from Ecar but was refused on the grounds that she had not submitted the correct paperwork to the insurer. She was charged £75 on refusal.

The Financial Ombudsman Service has said that every week for the past six months it has been receiving a handful of complaints of this nature, although it would not say which companies had been complained about.

Ecar Insurance has revealed that as
