Aviva appoints UK chief risk officer

Aviva has appointed John Lister as UK chief risk officer effective March 2012.

Mr Lister will be responsible for leading the risk management and governance agenda of the UK business. He will report to both UK chief executive officer, Trevor Matthews, and Aviva plc's chief risk officer Robin Spencer.

Mr Lister has worked for Aviva for 25 years and has previously been chief financial officer of the UK life business since 2009.

He will succeed Craig Thornton who became UK commercial director on 1 November.

Aviva doubling down for customers, says Martin

Aviva is committed to pushing on with an “absolute focus on customer” and will continue “doubling down”, David Martin, managing director for UK commercial and chief distribution officer, told Insurance Age as he teased a “major new proposition” pencilled in for the end of the third quarter will catch brokers’ eyes.
