Ten sentenced in crash for cash scam
Ten people have been sentenced after a three year investigation, led by Ageas, into a crash for cash conspiracy.
Ring leader Ali Askher, 45, was jailed for three-and-a-half years at Peterborough Crown Court on Wednesday 12 October. Mr Askher ran two claims management companies in Peterborough - Millfield Accident Claims Specialists and Premier Claim Specialists - and according to the Ageas was the main player in the plot which had the potential to defraud insurers out of more than £439,000.
The investigation involving the police was launched in 2008. Including all insurers involved, more than 30 incidents
