JLT thrives as Thistle struggles to produce profit
Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group (JLT) has announced a 9% growth in both revenue and profit before tax for the six months to 30 June 2011.
Total revenue was up to £411.3m for the six months compared to £377.8m in the same period of 2010 while profit before tax rose to £76.4m from £70.0m.
However Thistle Insurance Services, the underwriting and distribution offering that distributes through brokers, affinity groups and online, lost £246,000 in the half year. The figure was an improvement on the loss of £540,000 in the first six months of 2010.
Decline in revenue
Total revenue at Thistle also slipped marginally to £17.2m (H1 2010: £17
