FSA revokes regulatory permission for underwriting agency

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) issued a final notice dated 19 October, 2010, to Essex-based Ferryman Underwriting Agency, about a decision to cancel the permission granted to carry on regulated activities.

In its final notice, the FSA said it is "not satisfied that you are a fit and proper person having regard to all the circumstances, including the need to ensure that your business is conducted soundly and prudently"  after failing to submit its Retail Mediation Activities Return for the period ended 28 February 2010.

It continued: "You have not been open and co-operative in all your dealings with the FSA, in that you have failed to respond to the FSA's repeated requests for you to submit the

FSCS gives first insight on increasing levy to £394m

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme has indicated its levy for 2025/26 will rise to £394m from £265m this financial year as it cited having lower surpluses to carry forward and offset bills – a factor that has benefited brokers for two years in a row.
