RSA close corporate commercial offices
Royal & Sun Alliance (RSA) has announced that it is closing its corporate commercial offices in Liverpool and Reading as part of a strategic programme to improve its efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The insurer stated that the changes had been subject to full consultation with the union representatives and that it would continue to employ around 2,000 people in Liverpool.
The closure of the offices by 31 March 2004 will impact 86 employees – 52 in Reading and 34 in Liverpool. The insurer stated that, “wherever possible the individuals will be offered redeployment opportunities in other parts of the organisation.”Commenting on the closures, Brendan McManus, director corporate business, RSA said: “The service standards experienced by brokers and end customers will not be compromised by the office closures.
