When will politicians from all parties stop using our NHS as an ideological issue, admit that it is in terminal decline and that they must get their heads out of the sand to deliver fundamental change sooner rather than later.
It is more than 50 years since the inception of the NHS and the reality is that people have never had a meaningful right to free and equal treatment on demand. What they have had, in the main, is an unlimited right of access to a waiting list.
