Equity Red Star appoints underwriting manager for Scotland
Equity Red Star has announced the appointment of Iain Torrance as underwriting manager for Scotland, heading up its fleet and motor accounts in the region. He will be based in the insurer’s Glasgow office which opened in April 2008.
According to the insurer, Mr Torrance has gained extensive experience of the Scottish markets, having come out of early retirement to accept the position. He was at RSA for almost 35 years.
Equity added that one of Mr Torrance's first duties will be to recruit additional underwriters to further develop broker relationships and provide a blend of technical and trading expertise, particularly in the fleet and haulage sectors.
