Aviva issues volcano insurance advice to customers

UK's largest insurer attempts to clarify its position over the disruption from the volcano

Aviva has issued the following advice for its volcano insurance policy:

"It can be confusing to know who’s responsible for financial losses from cancelled or delayed flights. As a general rule, your airline or tour operator is responsible for getting you to and from your holiday destination so the advice is to speak to them in the first instance."

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
