Allianz Cornhill looks set to achieve a 4% premium growth this year after announcing its results for the first quarter. Its operating profit of £46.3m, was up 29% over the same period last year. Its combined ratio was 96.2%, up from 97.8%, while its personal lines business gross written premium increased by 5.6% to £194.8m with a combined ratio of 96.6%.

While commercial lines premiums increased to £268.9m, with a combined ratio of 95.9%, this only represented moderate growth of 2.3% on last year
