Compliance with the European Union Insurance Mediation Directive has been mixed across Europe, with costs incurred in the UK significantly higher than anywhere else, according to a new report from the City of London Corporation.
Michael Snyder, chairman of policy at the corporation said the IMD's impact on small enterprises was worrying: "It appears that the IMD is increasing cost and regulatory burden to the point where smaller operators could be driven from the market."
