Solicitors Vizards Oldham has welcomed last month's decision in thecase Bradford-Smart v West Sussex County Council. Leah Bradford-Smart from
Crawley, West Sussex, was seeking £75,000 damages from the council
claiming she suffered psychiatric injuries when aged nine and 12 as a
result of negligence by staff at Ifiled Middle School, Crawley.
Mr Justice Garland ruled schools had no duty to prevent bullying that
occurred outside its grounds.
