The UK's regulators should be more accountable, according to DLA'sregulatory lawyer Neil Gerrard. He said: "The actions of regulatory bodies
materially affect the fortunes of business and they should answer to the
public through Parliament." DLA has submitted evidence to the House of
Lords Constitution Committee's inquiry into the accountability of
regulators. The Committee closed for new evidence on 31 March 2003.
