More than 50% of brokers surveyed admitted to taking short cuts when
dealing with employment law regulations, in a recent study by law firm
Peninsula. The vast majority - 82% - felt the government needed to do more
to help small businesses deal with regulation, while 72% were unaware of
the raft of new legislation being introduced this month. Nearly half of
brokers surveyed said the law is so complex they cannot comply. Peninsula
surveyed 643 brokers nationwide during January and February 2003.
