Insurers need to be more proactive in dealing with floods, accordingto John Wickham, head of property claims at Norwich Union.
Speaking at the National Flood Forum Conference in October, Mr Wickham
called for more accurate information on UK flood defences. He urged
insurers to carry out more environmental research to allow for more
detailed flood maps and encouraged them to support local flood groups.
Iain MacDonald, head of special projects at Cunningham Lindsey and
Weathernet, agreed. He said:
