The chief executive of The Broker Network has slammed the price of acquiring brokerages following the publication of strong end-of-year results for the company.

Grant Ellis said that the firm continues to seek opportunities to acquire, despite having held unsuccessful talks with London-based Lark. Groupama subsequently bought a majority stake in the broker for a price that a market source suggested valued the company in the region of £40m.
