The Financial Services Authority has joined a chorus of industry voices condemning the proposed European Union directive threatening to ban customer differentiation by gender in underwriting.
The FSA predicts the supply of goods and services directive, which prohibits the use of gender as a factor in the calculation of premiums, would increase the overall cost of buying insurance cover.
