Lloyd's has been ringing the changes over access and brokers have taken advantage, either directly or via broker networks. Angela Faherty says it could be a sound move.
Lloyd's of London introduced a new process of accreditation inJanuary 2001, allowing provincial brokers to apply to become provisionally
accredited Lloyd's brokers. Some 35 new brokers have been accredited so
far, bringing the total number of Lloyd's brokers to 162.
Steve Boucher, senior manager of the Lloyd's broker services department,
says it is all going well but stresses it is early days. "The new
