The Environment Agency has published its flood defences map, meaning
householders in flood plains can now find out if they are uninsurable.


The Environment Agency information, published at the end of January,
details which areas risk being flooded more than once in 75 years and
where it plans to build flood defences by 2007.


Under the Association of British Insurers' statement of principles on
flooding, insurers will not continue to provide insurance for householders
living with a higher risk and
