An accident waiting to happen

Brokers currently placing personal accident and protection business in the companies market should look at what Lloyd's has to offer. David Fanning says it is one of the most profitable classes in the London Market.

Whatever the risk, Lloyd's personal accident syndicates will probably be able to cover it. This class is one of the most profitable in the market, despite continuing pressure on rates and the reported departure of around $200m in capacity over the past year or so.

"Rates are increasing across the board," says a spokeswoman for Cassidy Davis, one of the leading players in the area. "The largest rises have been in such classes as sport and, to some extent, in the big schemes where underwriting
