Oliver Lodge, managing director of Beachcroft Wansbroughs Consulting, warned brokers not to be lured into a false sense of security regarding Financial Services Authority regulation. Lodge gave an insight into the workings of the incoming regulator, having previously worked at the FSA for 10 years.
He said: "The FSA's public messages are simplistic but complex in practice." He continued: "When corresponding with the FSA, don't hold back - be comprehensive, precise and punctual and avoid clumsy
