Lloyd's broker Sterling Hamilton Wright has denied it may be bought by Cox's broking division, despite persisting market speculation.

If implemented, the move would provide Cox with a commercial placing division with access to Lloyd's. However, Stephen Duffy, head of agency management and marketing director at SHW, said: "This rumour has been around for 12 months and there is no truth in it."
