Mark Cliff, commercial and intermediary lines director, Axa Insurance
UK, gave brokers a gloomy view of their future and advised them to sign up
for tied agent status before it is too late.


Though giving a slightly tongue-in-cheek prediction for the future, Mr
Cliff said: "This is a pre-retirement seminar for brokers. The Financial
Services Authority will add an extra 20% to costs and it will be a very
difficult market place. The only way to make it will be to be big or sign
up for integration
