Software suppliers are getting their houses in order by adapting their systems for the impending Financial Services Authority regulation. Angela Faherty finds that brokers should benefit, as long as they shop around and use their common sense.

With Financial Services Authority regulation looming, brokers should
be assessing the way they carry out business. While nothing is set in
stone, the FSA's consultation papers - CP159 and CP160 - have put forward
suggestions about methods of best practice and laid the foundations for
what should be done to ensure compliance.


Technology can play a critical role in helping brokers run a more
efficient business but with so many players in the market and no final
regulatory framework in place for some
