This late 18th century jade hookah was one of the items stolen from acountry house in Worcestershire earlier this year. Axa Art has warned its
clients that a spate of burglaries have taken place at country houses this
year, involving a gang of young men using stolen four-wheel drive
vehicles. Adam Golder, chief executive of Axa Art, said: "By making people
aware of the pattern of these crimes we can assist owners in taking
relevant precautions to avoid a similar occurrence."
