Recently, I raised the issue of employers' liability and theplacement of cover. I referred to the fact brokers and insurance buyers
had been given assurances from the Treasury that the Association of
British Insurers would intercede with its member insurers. It was hoped
the ABI would bring pressure to bear on insurers to renew or find minimum
levels of cover to allow companies to continue to trade.
However, John Parker, head of general insurance at the ABI, recently
