Broker Expo 2026 Countdown Q&A: Driversure’s Paul Rose

Paul Rose

Ahead of the Broker Expo Paul Rose, director at Driversure, outlines how his firm is aiming to help brokers create a USP that will allow them to win new business more successfully; and touts Richard Branson as a prospective investor in the business.

Can you give us a short preview as to the insights you will be looking to share as an exhibitor at Broker Expo 2026?

How brokers can support fleet policyholders to optimise outcomes from their risk management programs.

How brokers can retain existing policyholders indefinitely and additionally create a USP that will allow them to win new business more successfully.

How brokers with an existing admin burden around managing fleet risk/claims can offload that activity and save time and money by so doing.

The strapline for Broker Expo 2026 is “one day out of the office could create real opportunities”. From past experience, what advice would you give (new) attendees to maximise the value of their time at our industry-leading one day event?

Strive to make new acquaintances as well as renewing existing ones; and learn more about how AI is impacting the industry.

Given the current state of the insurance broking market, which buzzword(s) or phrase(s) are you expecting to hear most repeated at Broker Expo in 2026?

“Soft market” and how to win despite its implications.

“Consolidation” and how that can be a good thing.

What broking/insurance innovation has most impressed you in the past 12-18 months and why?

The number of brokers prepared to partner with third-party subcontractors to improve their proposition; alongside the ongoing impact of technology on claims, on-board equipment, data analysis, communication.

The Broker Expo sees the formal launch of The Insurance Academy. If you were to offer up a lesson for the next generation of broking professionals, what would the subject be?

Be open-minded. Regulation is not there to stifle ideas.

Seven-time Superbowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady owns a small stake in Birmingham City Football Club. If you could enlist a famous superstar to invest in your business, who would it be and why?

Probably Richard Branson, who thinks outside the box and displays the typical British bulldog spirit of never giving up.

Birmingham is the setting of the TV show Peaky Blinders. Who in the insurance industry would you describe as having played a blinder over the last 12 months?

All those M&A directors who have engineered the era of broker consolidation.

As we look forward to 2027, what gives you the greatest grounds for optimism that next year is going to be a good to be an insurance broker?

There might be a General Election.
