Mid-corporate brokers at investment or sale crossroads

Independent brokers dealing with larger corporate clients need to weigh up the option of sale or large technology investment to meet client demands in the present market.

That was one of the factors that ultimately led to Bridge selling to Gallagher earlier this year according to John Batty, director of technical services at the broking business, pictured.

Speaking at the Broker Expo Roadshow in Manchester yesterday, he told delegates: “As an independent broker that has recently sold to a national broker I can give some insight into the reasons why; and it was principally because more and more – certainly with our mid-corporate clients, those with turnover of £50m
