The past 12 months have been dictated by talk of consolidation slowdown and the soft market putting a brake on broker growth.

Despite the former, a small number of players have disappeared from the 2025 ranking after being snapped up by consolidators, most notably AssuredPartners (previously in the £50m-£60m banding and now owned by Gallagher); Griffiths & Armour (£30m-£40m, Aon), Freedom Group (£7.5m - £10m, One Sure Insurance Group) and Weatherbys Hamilton (£4m - £5m, Brown & Brown).

Looking ahead to next year, names that are ranked today in 2026 that are likely to disappear once consolidated into new owners include
