Aviva shrinks headcount by 500

Maurice Tulloch

Tulloch sees growth momentum at insurer.

Aviva is turned around and set to go, according to Maurice Tulloch, the insurer's chief executive officer of general insurance for the UK and Ireland.

Tulloch told Insurance Age that when he took up his UK-based post in September 2013 he found a business that was contracting.

"I inherited a terrific business with a rich history and a brand that was envied by many," he explained.

"It was tough to turn around a big ship but we feel that we are turned to go."
