Swiss insurer withdraws from new-home warranty and building control markets

Zurich is to exit the new-home warranty and building control markets affecting over 40 jobs.

As a result Zurich Building Guarantee will cease taking on new business for these products, including the registration of new sites with immediate effect.

Zurich said it would honour in full all commitments to existing customers and policy holders and ensure that all warranties and contracts were fulfilled and that a small team of around 10 individuals would remain to manage the remaining business.
