Markel launches insurance for equine and livestock

Markel International has launched its equine and livestock insurance division.

The company said it aimed to build a significant business in bloodstock and livestock insurance, which it estimated would be worth around £100m annually in gross premiums on the Lloyd's market. All risks of mortality, theft, infertility, and specified perils will be covered by the division.
