Hamish Ritchie, chairman of the British Insurance Brokers'
Association, hit an optimistic note in his opening address, telling
brokers that: "Broking has never been in a stronger position."


Mr Ritchie pointed out that the long-term survival of brokers is not even
in question. He added: "Brokers are the most efficient form of
distribution of the insurance product. I am enthusiastically buoyant about
what we are doing and thrilled that BIBA has adopted the future broker
day."


Mr Ritchie warned there
