Germany is still dragging its feet over the implementation of the European Union's Insurance Mediation Directive. In a damning assessment, BIPAR, the European Federation of Insurance Intermediaries, said last month that "it is unclear when it will be implemented into German law."

Other countries where the law is still to be finalised over a year after its set introduction date are:Belgium - where a law is expected to be passed shortly; France; Greece; Portugal; and Spain - where implementation is
