Fortis pushes growth aims with board appointments

Fortis (Insurance UK) has added two independent non-executive director to its life and non-life teams as are part of the company's growth strategy in the UK.

Mike Urmston has been appointed to the board of Fortis Life UK while Julian Hance has been appointed to the board of general insurer Fortis Insurance Limited (Fil).

Mr Urmston has nearly 40 years of financial and commercial experience in the life insurance sector, having served on the senior team of General Accident Life, now under the Aviva banner.

Mr Urmston comments: "In these interesting and challenging times for the market, it will be those providers that are truly focused on their customer

Hiscox grows UK book even faster in 2025

Hiscox’s growth momentum has accelerated again in the UK, with the insurer excited about its results and even “more excited about the future” with brokers, according to group chief underwriting officer Joanne Musselle.
