InsurTech Futures: Zurich teams up with Cocoon on smart tech home product

Insurer says initiative is part of its investment in innovation and future technologies.

Zurich Insurance has partnered up with smart tech company Cocoon on an all-in-one home security system.

The insurer stated that this was a part of its wider plans to continue investing in innovation and future technologies, in order to lead the charge in changing the nature of risk through the use of future tech.

Almost one million homes became smarter during the course of 2015 in the UK, with four million households now having some form of Smart Home system.

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
