Biba 2014: Steve White focuses on consumers, SME business and regulation in keynote speech

Trade body to launch consultation into raising standards.

Steve White, chief executive at the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (Biba), used his opening speech at this year’s conference to showcase the trade body’s political connections.

White told the audience that Biba’s tour of the regions, which took place last year, gave the organisation “a chance to outline how Biba interacts with government”.

ABI records 3% home premiums rise in Q1

Average home insurance premiums for buildings and contents cover rose by 3% to £375 in the first quarter of this year, pushing the year-on-year rise up to 19%, according to the Association of British Insurers.
