The sudden outcry from some areas of the broking fraternity is just typical (Insurance Age, April). All it serves to show is how little some brokers know about financial matters and, especially, their balance sheets.
This subject has not suddenly loomed upon them after all. As responsible brokers, we planned for this event, and our balance sheet will be clear of acquired Goodwill by the effective date.
I suspect that it has only just dawned upon some brokers that, to achieve this, they will either
