So, finally the Financial Services Authority (FSA) has decided against mandating compulsory commission disclosure, preferring instead to allow the market to come to its own solution. And 'about time too!' cried most of the market as across the land. Brokers threw their hands up in the air in relief at this reprieve.
Edward Harley, head of retail policy and financial promotions at the FSA, was quoted at the time as saying that although it had long been concerned that buyers of commercial insurance
