Brokers may be delighted to hear that at the Chartered Insurance Institute conference the Financial Services Authority (FSA) has declared it will be reviewing the effectiveness of its regulatory regime.
The review will begin in April 2006 and focus on retail conduct of business requirements and the regime's effectiveness in meeting its goals for consumers. Clive Briault, the FSA's managing director of Retail Markets said the FSA would use the review to identify ways to improve the effectiveness
