Markerstudy pulls back from MGA capacity arrangements on motor fleet

Insurer says it is looking to expand its own fleet business “substantially”.

Markerstudy has ended its capacity arrangements with MGAs writing motor fleet business.

The insurer stated that it aimed to grow its own motor fleet business following its purchase of Chaucer's UK motor business in 2015.

Gary Humphreys, group underwriting director, commented: "Continuing to provide capacity to other fleet underwriters that are not part of the company has the potential to create a conflict of interest.
